Korean ⇄ English Keyboard Converter

Fix text typed in the wrong input mode. Paste the garbled text and both conversions appear instantly.

Have you ever typed a whole sentence only to find your keyboard was in the wrong language and you got gibberish like "dkssudgktpdy" instead of Korean, or stray Hangul instead of English? This tool reverses that mistake without retyping.

It maps every key between the Korean Dubeolsik (two-set) layout and the English QWERTY layout, then reassembles Hangul syllables correctly. Paste the garbled text and it shows both possible conversions at once, automatically highlighting the one it detects as most likely.

How to use

  1. Paste or type the garbled text into the Input box.
  2. The tool instantly shows two results: the text read as Korean and read as English.
  3. The conversion it detects as most likely is marked "detected" and highlighted.
  4. Click Copy on the correct result to copy it to your clipboard.

FAQ

What does this converter actually do?
It translates keystrokes between the Korean and English keyboard layouts. If you typed Korean while in English mode (or vice versa), it recovers what you meant, including correctly combining Hangul initial, medial, and final letters.
Is my text sent to a server?
No. The conversion runs entirely in your browser with JavaScript. Nothing you type is uploaded or stored, so it is safe for private messages.
Why does it show two results?
Mixed or short input can be ambiguous, so it shows both the Korean and English interpretations and marks the most likely one. You pick whichever is correct.
Does it handle double consonants and compound vowels?
Yes. Shifted keys map to double consonants (ㄲ, ㅆ) and wide vowels (ㅒ, ㅖ), and the composer builds compound vowels (ㅘ, ㅢ) and complex final consonants (ㄳ, ㄺ) too.
